The Red Chair

Beer has nearly always been a professional pursuit. Anheuser-Busch, Coors and Miller have made sure of this, dominating nearly 80% of the American beer market.
And to us here at The Red Chair, that statistic is stunningly awful.
Great beer doesn’t need to come from mega-corporations or European monks. Nope, here in America, there’s a revolution of local beers, craft beers and boutique brewed creations - and this Saturday in Highland Park, Matt Kenvan’s Beer Dabbler series will highlight many of those excellent beer choices.
All of which leads TRC to ask - what exactly IS a Beer Dabbler?
Thank goodness for The American Heritage Dictionary.
dab·blerPronunciation: -b(ə-)lər\
: one that dabbles: as a : one not deeply engaged in or concerned with something b : a duck (as a mallard or shoveler) that feeds by dabbling —called also dabbling duck, puddle duck, river duck
synonyms see amateur
We like this idea. To dabble in beer. ‘Cause at the end of the day, we don’t want to be beer professionals. Nope. We just want to dabble a bit in the brewed beverage of our choice.
And Saturday is yet another chance to do such a thing.
Tix to the event are $25 - which is pretty much par for the course for beer tasting events here in MPLS. There’s gonna be live music, streetfood vendors and even a chance to bring your own homebrew and compete to win some pretty amazing prizes.
AND. Best of all. There are more than 50 breweries offering some amazing craft beers for you to taste.
It’s a pretty great event, and an overall plus for the Twincy - an outdoor event celebrating our favorite beverage can’t be wrong…right?
Not bad at all.
