So, we here at Twincy love tequila. Well. Sort of.

See, before tonight we thought of tequila as more of a frat boy beverage than something us sophisticates (ahem. kidding. really.) enjoy. In truth, it reminds us too much of college nights spent passed out on couches. And mornings spent chowing pancakes and popping Tylenol.

So it was with great surprise that we were BLOWN away by some amazing tequilas at Azia Restaurant’s Tequila 101 class tonight. Sampling from a dozen high-end tequilas we learned about the differences in classes and varietals of tequila. We learned about bottling processes, and the new move in tequila toward vineyard-type operations.

It all whetted our appetites and made us appreciate this very cliche beverage.
